ABOUT small door

small door / Community Culture Initiatives was a cooperation project of the Centre for Balkan Cooperation LOJA from Tetovo and Contemporary Art Centre from Skopje, dedicated to the improvement of cultural and social life and interethnic relationships in the city of Tetovo and western Macedonia. With the establishment of a Multimedia Arts Centre and field activities in the rural regions the project establishes the preconditions for cultural production and cultural animation, which involve the creative individuals and the groups, the cultural organizations and the institutions and all ethnic, religious and social communities in this region. The project was supported by Swiss Cultural Programme for South East Europe and Ukraine.

Goal of the project small door / Community Culture Initiatives was improvement of the social and cultural life and multiethnic relations in Tetovo and the region of western Macedonia through:
- Creation of cultural infrastructure in Tetovo and the region of western Macedonia;
- Improvement of the cultural production and cultural animation of the audience in Tetovo and the region of western Macedonia;
- Involvement of different ethnic community members in Tetovo and western Macedonia in solving of common social problems through cultural activities;
- Establishing of a best practice model for cooperation in Macedonia.

The activities of the project include wide range of both cultural production and cultural animation activities and capacity building for the project and its partners for a period of three years (December 2004 - November 2007).
