MAC Venue
Starting with the project “small door / Community Culture Initiatives”, the Centre for Balkan Cooperation LOJA moved into a new larger space that also includes the premises of the new Multimedia Art Centre (MAC) in Tetovo. The reconstruction work for MAC space in Tetovo started on 10.01.2005 was finished in May 2005. Community Self Help Initiative, a program of USAID, supported the space reconstruction and the furnishing.

The official opening for the public of the Multimedia Art Centre in Tetovo took place on June 1st, 2005. The opening program included theatre play production, together with a video art, exhibition of local artist.
The opening started with 10 minutes multimedia performance titled “Temper Tantrum” prepared especially for this event. The production team consisted of Bujar Luma- theatre director, Agnes Nokshiqi and Luran Ahmeti actors, Besim Lutolli stage design, Drashko Serafimovski stage inspector, Merisna Xhemaili costume design and Bujar Luma and Besim Lutolli music selection.
Around two hundred people attended the opening. The atmosphere was great. Bujar Luma gave a short introduction of the project, the program of MAC, the opportunities of all interested artists and cultural workers to collaborate with MAC.
The speakers Michael Eddy, director of Democracy and Local Governance Office of USAID as representative of the donor that supported the reconstruction, Romain Darbellay, the head of Cooperation Office of SDC in Skopje, and Petra Bishof, the regional programme director of SCP all stressed the importance of this event and this space for the city of Tetovo.

For the MAC opening ceremony we had exhibition of well-known artist from Tetovo Nevzat Bejtuli Kica. This exhibition was especially prepared for this purpose. The exhibition was running for 15 days and around 900 hundred people visited it.
After the official speeches, the guests were invited on a small cocktail and short demonstration of technical possibilities of MAC.
