Mobile Cinema

Mobile Cinema was a travelling cinema that made public screenings of various films and video works in the rural areas of the targeted rural regions – regions of Tetovo, Rostushe and Debar Zupa, in which until than there have not been any film screenings in a cinema like setting. Old halls of the Houses of Culture (most of them in very bad condition) with no activities whatsoever, or local elementary schools were used as cinema halls, and in summer, open air screenings were arranged.
The purpose of this program was to bring film to a wider audience by creating culturally diverse program that is intellectually accessible and thereby introduce new audiences to independent and art films. The program of the Mobile Cinema, (including the documentary films and video screenings) differed from the usual film programs of the local TV stations, it included films that deal with various socially engaged themes which stimulated a constructive dialog of the community after the screenings. Often, film gatherings were used to start other discussions and initiatives.

Region of Rostushe
During past three years, activities of mobile cinema were present in most of the villages of Reka region (community of Mavrovo Rostushe). Particularly the mobile team was present in the following villages: Rostushe, Velebrdo, Trebishte, Prisojnica, Skudrinje, Zirovnica, Kosovrasti, Vidushe, Janche,  Mavrovo and Vrbjani,  in fact in all active villages of the region. During the project realization more than 4000 people visited project activities.

Region of Tetovo
In Tetovo region during the time of project realization the mobile team was present mostly in the villages which are part of municipality of Tearce but also in some villages which are part of municipality of Jegunovce. Villages where the mobile team was active were: Tearce, Pshovce, Dobroshte, Leshok, Vratnica and Belovishte. More than 3000 people visited activities during the period of project realization.

Region of Debar Zupa
In region of Debar Zupa (municipality of Debar Zupa) the mobile team was active in the villages of Golem and Mal Papradnik, Broshtica, Kodzadzik, Elevci, Kosovrasti and Novak. In this heavy accessible region where most of the villages are settled higher than 1000 meters above sea level, more than 2500 people visited project activities.
